Abstract

This study is supposed to evaluate the peer support activities conducted in Hiroshima University. The activities in 2011 were self assessed with Empowerment Evaluation. As a result, these three activities got high score in degree of importance, first, the training of peer supporter, second new trial in management of organization, third the consultation activity. The degrees of achievement in each activity were evaluated highly in the training of peer supporter, new trial in management of organization, and internal exchanges. It has been passed 12 years to start peer support activities in Hiroshima University and both the basis of management and activities has been built up. These are regarded more important to improve motivation of peer supporter, communication skills as a supporter, and independence of peer supporter with maintaining organization and peer support activities. Peer support activities are considered to be effective as extracurricular activities in support between students, becoming role model for junior students and growing independence and communication skills.
