Abstract

The mental illness as the crisis of life and the problem of the brain and the consciousness as the crisis of the science have a common aspect in that they both have the form of the antagonism between the first and the third persons. The antagonism may be mediated by the impersonal or the second person. However, I believe that the second person is the true mediator. The person who sets out for the adventure for the encounter with the second person turns to be the anticipatory second person himself or herself. If the encounter with the second person brings the salvation, the person who seeks for the salvation must become the saving existence in the very course of nature of his or her motivation. When such existences meet with each other, the antagonism becomes mediated. The problem of the relationship between the brain and the consciousness will be solved by the introduction of the notion of the maternal "matrix" as the anticipatory second person.
