Abstract

An object-oriented approach (OOA) for software development was created in the English-speaking countries of the U.S.A. and United Kingdom. The OOA scheme depends upon the cognitive structure of English. This paper shows that the structure of class-diagram is absolutely equal to the whole concept of the ve English sentence patterns; S+V+O, S+V+O+O etc. Class-diagram must be an effective tool for English-speakers. The cognitive structure of Japanese is, however, quite different from that of English. The class-diagram generation is equal to a kind of Japanese-English translation for Japanese speakers. This means that the practices for Japanese-English Translation can be applicable to the class-diagram creation. This paper proposes a new class-diagram creation process using the knowledge of Japanese cognitive grammar. The proposed process is an effective training tool for the begginer SEs (Software Engineers).
