Abstract
type:原著論文
The distributional survey of a parasitic vine, Cassytha filiformis in Iriomote island was carried out in order to avoid thefuture threat to the crop plants by this species. Unfortunately, almost all coastal parts of the island were already colonized, butno invasion into an inland area or no harmful effects on the crops like pineapple was not observed. The detected largest colonywas 8 m x 218 m, which suggests that this plant has considerably higher growth and reproductive ability. Main host planthas been hitherto Ipomoea pes-caprae , but other woody plants were sometimes colonized, which indicates low host specificityof this species. Flowering occurs year-round and a large quantity of seeds is formed, which also means high potential ofreproductive ability. A successive survey could be appreciated even though no harmful effect has been given to any crops.
