[要約] これまで取り上げられることの少なかった東京都外に設置されている区立健康学園・病弱特別支援学校に着目し，その概要と特色を学校要覧等の資料や聞き取りにより調査を行った。結果を整理，検討したところ，これまで長い歴史の中で学習指導や生活指導の実践・研究の構築がなされてきていることが明らかとなった。現代においても，病弱教育の意義に即した教育目標が掲げられ，その具現化を目指して，学園・学校独自の特色を活かした児童の病気や教育的ニーズ・困難に合わせた教育が行われていることが明らかとなった。

[SUMMARY] This paper focuses on the often overlooked Ward-established Kenko Gakuen and special needs schools, with research via interviews and documentary research using school directories, etc., to gain an understanding of the purpose and characteristics of each school, and careful organization and consideration of the results. We revealed the study and life instruction they provide is the result of the research and practice they have conducted over their long histories. They continue to utilize educational goals suited to special needs education, and use the unique characteristics of their schools to overcome the difficulties and meet the educational needs required by the conditions of their students.
