[要約] 本稿は，前報に引き続きアメリカにおける教育心理学の初期の歴史について検討を加えたものである。まず,1870年代から1980年代にかけての動きを概観した。この時代になると，師範学校のカリキュラムにおいても精神哲学から心理学への移行がみられたが，それは遅々たるものだった。1890年になってイリノイ大学で“教育心理学”というタイトルの授業がはじめて開設された。これは，Herbartの哲学，教育学の影響を受けたものであったが，必ずしも，それがその後の教育心理学の発展に直接的な影響を与えたわけではなかった。最後に,1886年，Louisa Hopkinsによってはじめて教育心理学というタイトルの小冊子が執筆されたことなども触れたが，これについては次報の課題となった。

[SUMMARY] Continuing from the previous report (Oashi, 2020), this paper examined the early history of educational psychology in the United States. First, the author gave an overview of the development from the 1870s to the 1980s. There was a gradual transition from “Mental Philosophy” to “Psychology” in the normal school curriculum, but it was slow. The first class entitled “Educational Psychology” was offered at the University of Illinois in 1890. Although this class was based on Herbart's philosophy and pedagogy, this did not necessarily give the direct impact to the subsequent development of educational psychology. Finally, it was mentioned that in 1886, Louisa Hopkins wrote the first booklet titled “Educational Psychology”.
