わが国におけるニホンジカ管理は, ハンターの高齢化や減少による捕獲圧の低下, 捕殺個体の市場供給時の制約といった課題によって進展を阻まれている。本稿は, 北海道で導入されつつある一時養鹿(捕獲した個体を暫定的に養鹿する方法)に着目し, 従来の養鹿や捕殺形式の狩猟の下で残されてきたニホンジカ管理の諸問題が, 一時養鹿によって改善されうることを論じるとともに, 今後に残された課題を指摘した。 Deer management in our country has seen its development hampered by decreasing capture pressure due to aging, declining hunter participation, and market supply constraints on population catching and killing. This study particularly focuses on the introduction of farmed deer (a method where captured deer populations are provisionally farmed) to Hokkaido, highlighting remaining issues for the future while discussing the possibility of solutions to the problems of deer management remaining under conventional deer farming and catch and kill hunting types with temporary deer farming.
