Description
Highly efficient internal combustion engine is still important powertrain to meet a future carbon neutral society. The cooling loss gives a large impact to improve the thermal efficiency. This paper presents a study of the heat transfer mechanism in the SI engine for reduce the cooling loss. This article is highlighting the effect of wall temperature on local heat flux. To simplify the heat transfer phenomena, the experiment was carried out using rapid compression machine. The results indicate the heat flux increases with higher wall temperature caused by wall-flame interaction.
