<p>Open-source development systems such as Linux and Apache have made success. In the case of Linux, in particular, the existence of leadership is said to be the specific feature different from other projects such as FreeBSD. On the other hand, it has also been pointed out that developers in open-source projects are loosely tied and that strong leadership is not required. These two statements look contradictory. We studied the effect of leadership based on multi-layered agent model. It is shown that the effect of leadership is small and takes effect only in long term.</p>
