Abstract

There are numerous large earthquakes in Japan, causing different types of damage. On indoor spaces, furniture fall is a frequent cause of injuries and deaths, especially by heavy storage furniture frequently used in living spaces. In this study, in order to reduce such damage, we developed a light laminated wood and conducted strength tests, specific gravity measurement, and a fallin furniture impact tests. As a result, it was found that mixed laminated wood made of Sugi and Spruce is effective in both strength and specific gravity. Furthermore, in the fall impact tests it was clarified that the impact of the commercially available laminated wood can be halved.
