スポーツ活動は、本質的には狩猟行動の変形であるといわれます。そのような論説の中において、動物学のD. Morrisは、多くのスポーツの本質、例えばバスケットボールと野球は的をねらう行動であり、的をねらう行動は古代の狩猟者の世界では、死活問題であったというのであります。しかし、本稿は野球に限っては狩猟型ではなく、あえていうなら、農耕型であることを、幾つかのキーワードを駆使して主張を試みました。

It is said that sports activities are transformation from hunting activity in kind. D. Morris, a zoologist who supports the theory, says that essence of many sports, for instance baseball or basketball, is an action to aim at the target and the action was a matter of life or death in the ancient hunting world. In this paper, however, considering some keywords, I addressed that baseball is an agricultural type sport rather than a hunting type sport.
