Abstract

In this paper, we report the results of a preliminary survey on the influence of college students’ life rhythms on their English learning. According to the results of this preliminary survey, it was found that if the participants were able to spend their summer vacations in a healthy manner and did not experience any significant change in their living conditions during the semester, then, irrespective of whether or not they continued learning English, they did not show any significant decline in their English language skills. In addition, it was shown that wearing an activity meter and collecting and being able to see actual biological data may encourage people to improve their lives and continue learning. In the future, we would like to continue to conduct our research on the relationship between learners’ life rhythms and English learning, after considering how to deal with the issues raised by this preliminary survey.
