Abstract
Recently, with the rapid spread of smartphones, opportunities to deal with information related to user privacy are increasing, and it is indispensable to implement a use authentication function into the smartphone. A PIN, a password, a pattern lock, etc. are used as traditional user authentication methods in conventional smartphones. However, these authentication functions have a problem that there is a risk of spoofing by guessing the PIN, the pattern, etc. by another person. Moreover, there is another problem that user authentication is not performed continuously after once the authentication succeeded, so there is a risk that the authenticated terminal will be used illegally. Based on the above background, in this research, we propose a new continuous authentication method for smartphones that considers the user’s usage environment and evaluate its effectiveness.
