Abstract

<p>〔Aims〕To elucidate the self-changes recognized by mid-career nurses who experienced long-term rotation training.</p><p>〔Method〕Semi-structured interviews were conducted on nine mid-career nurses who participated in Long-term rotation training about changes they underwent, and this was analyzed by content analysis.</p><p>〔Results〕The five categories of self-changes experienced during the Long-term rotation training by mid-career nurses were extracted: (1)realization of a new and different self; (2)heart-moving experiences;(3)opportunity to think about their career; (4)awareness of connection with other departments, and(5)opportunity to rethink the department in which they are placed. </p><p>〔Conclusions〕Through experiencing Long-term training, mid-career nurses were freed from their roles in their department, thereby gaining an opportunity for self-reflection, suggesting that the training provided them an opportunity to rediscovery themselves, and rethink about their careers. </p>
