Description

The purpose of this study is to describe the characteristics of traffic-counseling through one typical case in National Agency for Automotive Safety & Victims' Aid (NASVA). In the Safety Guidance Section, the assessment and counseling for traffic safety is administered. Counseling in NASVA is a single session which takes about three hours. In the session, pretreatment change, active listening, goal setting, details of processing for the goal, and task setting for habituation of safety driving among the client and his/her company are involved. In a limited time, it is more important to find a unique outcome and form a habituation for the client's safety driving rather than be investigated for the cause of the accident. Scaling questions work to realize an effective counseling. Further information on client's driving performance after the session and collecting effects on the counseling is also needed.
