<p>吸入ステロイド薬（inhaled corticosteroids：ICS）/長時間作用性β2刺激薬（long-acting β2 agonist：LABA）による喘息治療の普及により，喘息死は著しく減少し，多くの患者は健常者と変わらない日常生活を送ることができるようになった．しかしながら，2018年に実施されたJapan National Health and Wellness Survey（NHWS）の調査では，吸入薬にアドヒアランスの高い喘息患者であっても35.6％はコントロール不十分であることが示され，未だ課題も残されている．2020年，長時間作用性抗コリン薬（long-acting muscarinic antagonist：LAMA）の追加使用に関する大規模研究の報告が相次ぎ，また，ICS/LABA/LAMA 3剤配合薬が登場したことから，喘息治療のさらなる発展が期待される．本稿では，喘息吸入薬の開発の歴史を振り返りながら，吸入薬を主体とした今日の喘息治療を概観し，3剤配合薬の特徴と治療における位置付けについて解説する．</p>
