Description

Stress urinary incontinence is commonly observed in women after childbirth. Some women manifest symptoms of urinary incontinence for a long period after childbirth. This study aims to identify the predisposing factors for this condition. A survey was conducted on 81 women who had given birth. Information was collected through a questionnaire survey that included questions on age, the number of deliveries, the International Consultation on Incontinence Questionnaire-Short Form (ICIQ-SF) scores during pregnancy (previous) and postpartum (present), the birth weight of the child, and the time since last childbirth.

Correlation analyses and logistic regression analysis were also performed to identify correlations between the present ICIQ SF score during postpartum and other factors. The presence of present stress urinary incontinence symptoms was associated with the child’s birth weight, the ICIQ-SF score during pregnancy. To prevent the development of stress urinary incontinence in the long term after childbirth, it is important to assess the severity of urinary incontinence during pregnancy, predict the risk of stress urinary incontinence based on the birth weight of the child.
