Description
The chocolate-colored ore from the Ikenotsuru mine, Kumamoto Prefecture is composed mainly of hausmannite, tephroite, "chocolate material", and a small quantity of rhodochrosite. The oxidation process by weathering in situ of this ore can be expressed by the following schema: chocolate-colored ore→M nO_2 gel→m anganoan nsutite→n sutite.
