Description

A telemedicine system has been developed for monitoring a patient's electrocardiogram during daily activities. The complete system is mounted on chest electrodes. When a heart discomfort is felt, the patient pushes the data transmission switch on the recording system, which sends the recorded ECG waveforms of the prior two minutes and the waveforms for two minutes after the switch is pressed, directly to the hospital server computer, via a Personal Handy Phone (PHS). The data are stored in server computer and downloaded to the physician's Java mobile phone, and can be displayed on its liquid crystal display. Therefore, the developed system enables remote ECG monitoring, regardless of patient and doctor locations.
