Description

With the ongoing coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, since it has become a common practice to wear a mask, we designed a chin-in band worn under the mask for preventing the head forward bend position, and evaluated its effect in patients with cervico-omo-brachial syndrome. Ninety-four patients with cervico-omo-brachial syndrome were randomly divided into a control group (which wore only masks [n = 46]) and a chin-in group (which wore chin-in bands [n = 48]). The chin-in group showed a significantly higher rate of improvement of the index of difficulty in daily life (p = 0.013) and of stiffness of the trapezius muscle (p = 0.001) than the control group.
