Abstract

Five pictures of Buddha, produced by Serizawa Keisuke in 1979-1980, are a series of stencil-dyed works consisting of Fudo, Syaka Sanzon, Jyuichimen Kannon, Yakushi and Juzou. They were based on existing Buddhist images: Fudo of Toji Temple, Syaka Sanzon of Horyuji Temple, Jyuichimen Kannon of Kogenji Temple, Yakushi of Jingoji Tenple, and Jizou, collected by Serizawa and now in the Serizawa Keisuke Are Museum. Related materials held by the Tohoku Fukushi University Serizawa Keisuke Art and Craft Museum include 14 stencil patterns and on experimentally dyed cloth.
