Abstract

<p> In the three dimensional nonlinear material FEM analysis of reinforced concrete members, the modeling method considering the effect of post-installation of Post installed head shear reinforcement bar (PHB) has been studied for distributed reinforcement, but not for discrete reinforcement. In this study, we proposed a modeling method of the effect of post-construction of PHB for discrete reinforcement and conducted a parameter study of the bond stress-slip relationship between concrete and reinforcements. The results showed that the effect of post-installation of PHB on the shear strength and cracking behavior could be qualitatively evaluated. In addition, the effect of post-installation of the PHB and the failure mode were analyzed by using the proposed modeling method in the three dimensional nonlinear material FEM analysis of a full-scale RC column member (more than 1 m thick) reinforced by PHB.</p>
