This paper reports that the recovery support through collaboration using landscaping design in the Hiraenoki village of Shiwa, Asakura City, Fukuoka Prefecture, which was damaged in the July 2017 torrential rainstorm in northern Kyushu, with a particular focus on the process of landscaping a flower tree garden called “Kunugiyama Miharashi-dai”. The residents established a restoration committee to ensure the village’s continuity and envisioned the development of restoration activities through landscape design. The committee requested support from Kyushu University and jointly planned activities, secured funding, formulated a planting plan, and implemented the activities. This paper reports on the design process as a case study.
