Abstract
Attackers may use the microphones to illegally record the sounds of environment and steal our personal information. Herein, we analyze the extent to which a user's keystrokes are leaked to the attacker in an attack scenario, where the attacker wiretaps the tapping sounds of the target user's smartphone using an external microphone. As a result, we obtained an identification rate of 29.4% in the highest case. We also evaluated the accuracy by changing the key layout on the smartphone so as to swap the correspondence between the key and the tap sound.
