<p>This study provides an understanding of the needs for signs identifying restroom shown in group homes for the elderly with dementia (restroom signs), and reveals the elements for planning. </p><p>The purpose of staff displaying restroom signs is to support residents with dementia by showing them the location of the restroom and helping them to go to the restroom independently. The restroom sign should state that it is a restroom in letters and the size of the letters should be approximately 50 to 90 mm. The sign should be placed on the door surface at a height of approximately 1300-1400 mm.</p>
