Abstract

Crowned dens syndrome (CDS) is an arthritis caused by calcium heparophosphate or calciumhydroxyapatite deposition around the axial vertebral process. CDS is characterized by fever, neck pain, and inflammatory reaction, and calcifiied leisions around the axial vertebral process are seen on imaging. In this report, we describe three cases in which the diagnosis was made by imaging studies, including a review of the literature.
