Abstract

Research on lip-reading technologies using machine learning and image processing has been conducted in recent years. Conventional research focused on recognition methods and cognitive accuracy by machines. However, these researchers have not considered the hearing-impaired person communicating using lip-reading. This project regards that even speakers with high cognitive accuracy in lip-reading technologies, that is not easy to lip-read hearing-impaired persons. Therefore, this research conducted an experimental survey to numerically elucidate how to speak easily for hearing-impaired people who communicate by using lip-reading daily.
