Abstract
Polycarbonate is a sort of ductile material, however some specimens with notch becomes brittle. Moreover, the materials shows brittle characteristics at a lower temperature on bending tests. We can observe plastic regions on the bottom of the notcch. We report that the regions affect breaking forces and energies for the brittle fracture. The experimental results leads us to understand that there are three types of fracture process through yielding and crack.
