Description

In the recent years, bicycles have played an important role as a familiar and useful transportation. In addition, for bicycles to ride safely, it is important to reduce the chances of accident between bicycle and automobile, between bicycles, and between bicycle and pedestrian. In this study, targeting road with bicycle traffic spaces in Aichi Prefecture, we examined the impact on bicycle accidents from changes in the number of accidents and factor analysis. As a result, it cannot confirm an improvement effect in the change in the number of bicycle accidents for one year before and after the improvement of the bicycle traffic space. However, by the factor analysis, it was found that the number of bicycle accidents decreased when it was improvement of the bicycle traffic space. In addition, we pointed to the number of accidents is increase in which bicycles are the primary party in the improvement of bicycle track within carriageway, and in which bicycles are the secondary party in the improvement of bicycle lane.
