Abstract
In recent years, many video games that deal with automobiles have used expressions of damage caused by collisions, but most of them have reproduced peeling paint or plastic deformation of metal parts, and almost none of them have dealt with cracks in FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastics) materials. Although FRP exterior parts are widely used for external bumpers, we felt unnatural with the fact that the same expressions of damage were used in the video games as for other plastic materials and steel plates. Therefore, in this research, we devised a method of expressing cracks in FRP materials and implemented it using Unity, a video game development tool. In addition, we will conduct experiments to determine the realism of the visual representation of breakage as well as the processing cost and consider whether it is possible to incorporate it into actual video game works.
