- Education Practice for Reconstruction after the Great East Japan Earthquake -Focusing on the educational practice of TOKUMIZU Hiroshi in Miyagi-

Abstract
TOKUMIZU Hiroshi worked as an elementary school teacher in Miyagi Prefecture, who practiced educationfor reconstruction in 2011 and 2012. Since 2014, he has been working on community development projects at theOgatsu Rose Factory Garden. In the educational practice for reconstruction, children learned how to live in thecommunity while participating in the activities of the local traditional culture and fishery industry. He also workedon activities to express memories of the earthquake and the past through poetry, haiku, prints, dioramas, etc., inorder to care for the physical and mental health of children who were damaged by the disaster. This studyelucidates the significance of TOKUMIZU's educational practice and community practice while comparingTOKUMIZU's activities before and after the earthquake, and before and after retirement.
