Description

This study analyzes the process of vocational ability development and career change in women's vocational careers, based on interviews with women in their 20s to 40s who had graduated from junior colleges, using the Modified Grounded Theory Approach. The focus was mainly on self-development conducted by individuals. Results show that the process of vocational ability development and career change can be divided into two main components: psychological, in which people contemplate and decide on the direction of their careers and the type of development they will undertake, and behavioral, in which people actually develop their vocational abilities and change careers. The psychological component involves reflection on negative and positive psychology and a consideration of personal circumstances; this is followed by reflection and decision-making about career directions, vocational ability development, and career change, leading to action.
