Description
The importance of " resonance," when a concept is shared and individual creative moments resonate among co-designers, is widely recognized. However, quantitative research on the subject remains in the germination stage. In this study, we estimate the creative states that occur during co-creative pair work using a hidden Markov model (HMM) based on multimodal biological indicators that arise during concept generation by pairs. Furthermore, we estimate the creative states that occur during individual work using the same model, which includes phenomena specific to co-creation, and examine the relationship between individual creativity and resonance. The results show that the HMM can estimate creative states during co-creation to a degree. The HMM also detected " self-resonance," which occurs when an individual forms an image that does not require involvement with others, suggesting a quality equal to resonance with others at the individual level of cognition.
