Description
Kyushu University set up a “Web consultation reception form” on its website that can be filled and submitted in situations where it is difficult to visit and meet. In this study, we reported on the trends among students who were provided support in FY2020, and considered the ideal way a coordinator can support students during a pandemic situation, such as the current COVID-19 pandemic. The usage status of the Coordination Section showed a sharp increase in the number of clients in FY2020 compared to FY2018 and FY2019, and the ratio of clients to use from themselves increased about five times from the usual ratio. The Coordination Section was also capable of providing multiple support to students at the same time by playing a coordinating role between the support providers and related parties. From these changes, it was evident that the Coordination Section could be used to grasp a student’s condition and determine the ideal direction of support provision. It is thought that such a coordination function plays an important role in promoting cooperation between supporters and providing appropriate support to students in the COVID-19 pandemic where it is difficult to see and assess a student’s condition in person.
