<p>As information network systems expand and become more sophisticated, there is an expected increase in electricity consumption and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in related industries. This study aims to analyze the GHG emissions resulting from the lifecycle expansion of information network systems. To achieve this, a network traffic matrix corresponding to an input-output table was created. This matrix allowed for the estimation of the network traffic volume generated by each final demand and the GHG emissions per volume of network traffic. The study estimated that in 2015, direct and indirect emissions from fixed and mobile traffic due to household consumption were approximately 130 [t-CO2eq./Gbps] and 600 [t-CO2eq./Gbps], respectively. The findings highlight that mobile traffic could generate approximately 4 to 5 times the GHG emissions of fixed traffic.</p>
