Description

Following the previous studies on the Egyptian settlement, in this paper we have tried to set forth the positioning of the Saqqara village in Egypt, based on the results of our three-year study as well as the supplemental survey this year. The Saqqara village located in the vicinity of a large city, Cairo, still reflects the characteristic of a traditional old village (Karya-type village) among the villages in Egypt. Therefore, because ancient Egypt is represented in the Saqqara village by the remains of ancient buildings alongside urban environments in addition to the villagers' unique cultural and local community activities, tourism is active.
