Abstract
In this paper, the frequency characteristics of the wavefront on the aperture in the reflectarray antenna will be formulated by using the geometrical optics method, and its theoretical limit will be clarified. In addition, it will be clarified that the wavefront approximated by a spherical wave is determined by the geometry configuration of the reflectarray antenna, specifically, the position of the image of the primary radiator by the plane reflector. Based on the results, a method of using the frequency characteristics of the phase center of the primary radiator is proposed as a method to improve the frequency characteristics of the reflectarray antenna. Finally, the validity will be shown by the measurement of the prototype model.
