Abstract
<p>In recent years, research and development on metal additive manufacturing technology has been active in various fields. One of the metal additive manufacturing technologies is wire arc additive manufacturing (WAAM). WAAM can be added to existing parts, and when combined with machining, has a high affinity for the manufacture of vanes and blades, which are important parts of turbomachinery. However, related research has been limited to the manufacturing of parts such as turbine blade or screw propeller and has not been able to verify the incorporation of the manufactured parts into turbomachinery. In this study, a fan type inducer made of stainless steel was developed using WAAM and machining. The developed inducer was assembled to a centrifugal pump, and pump performance tests were conducted to investigate the applicability of this manufacturing process to turbomachinery. The results of the study show that this process is industrially advantage.</p>
