Abstract

<p>The purpose of this study is to verify whether subjects can enhance their civic pride by recreating a local historic site in Minecraft and learning more about the site through the process. The subjects were six young adults from Shizuoka Prefecture, and the target historic site was the Takatenjin Castle Ruins, a nationally designated historic site in Kakegawa City, Shizuoka Prefecture. In conducting the research, we sought the cooperation of curators from Kakegawa City Hall and the civic tech organization "Code for Kakegawa" to obtain expert knowledge and established a public-private-academic system. This paper reports on the progress of the study conducted so far and future plans.</p>
