Abstract

<p>Although eye gaze data is easy to collect and analyze and can provide objective results, there are multiple interpretations of the measurement results. Therefore, eye gaze measurement should be used in conjunction with qualitative methods in order to achieve appropriate interpretation of the results. On the other hand, qualitative methods require specialized skills of the implementers. This study aimed to estimate the characteristics of product search from eye gaze information. As a result, there were seven characteristics of product search, which are classified into three categories. These characteristics can be collected, analyzed, and interpreted from eye gaze information. We believe that the results of this study are beneficial in that they suggest the possibility of automatically understanding the characteristics of product search from eye gaze information.</p>
