Abstract

<p>How do designers identify the problem to solve? How do they generate ideas for the problem? How do they evaluate ideas? Ultimately, How do designers design? The Design Methods designers use unconsciously haven’t been described as explicit knowledge. This study aimed to develop Design Tools to help beginner designers and non-designers understand the Design Methods that experienced designers use unconsciously. As a result, seven tools were developed. Structuring, Recombining, Evaluater, Transformer, ValueMining, Extractor, and ScenarioWriter. These tools provide an overall Design Method for the design process.</p>
