Abstract

A patient with bipolar disorder (manic depression) had committed self-harm, and his daughter, who lived with him, had repeatedly called for emergency services. Before and after this incident occurred, organizations such as the fire department, police, city hall, and social welfare council held discussions and responded to the situation for a long time. Additionally, specialized medical institutions were also struggling to accommodate the sick and injured. This incident of self-injury and harm to others occurred while we were trying to figure out how to follow up in the local community for an injured person who had attempted suicide and was a frequent ambulance user. Ta. Had all the relevant organizations been able to share information on the injured and sick, the response might have been different. Through this example, there is an urgent need to build a cooperation and support system with related organizations. The basis of psychiatric emergency activities, like general emergency services, is the standardization of common language and recognition. In the future, administrative agencies will play a central role in standardizing these, and we would like to build a system and system strengthening that allows the disabled and their families to smoothly return to society.
