Abstract
Using wireless communication, we have put into practical use a mechanism that can continuously detect the position of a high-speed moving object with good accuracy over long distances. The method in this research is an absolute position detection method that does not accumulate errors, and by using it complementarily with other relative position detection methods such as wheel rotation speed measurement, the reliability of position detection can be improved. In this paper, we explain the position detection and correction method, and report the results of verification using a millimeter-wave wireless communication system built on a high-speed rail test line.
