The aim of this study is to clarify the similarities and differences between the station front location and location where automobiles are the main means of transportation regarding the spatial composition of the staying-type common space in large commercial buildings. As a case study, after analyzing the floor plan of 15 large-scale commercial buildings in Kanagawa Prefecture, I analyzed the spatial characteristics and usage patterns of staying-type common spaces in four cases
