Abstract
<p>Biomass resources are promising alternative resources to fossil fuels that can contribute to global warming mitigation. High water content biomass is a useful renewable energy resource and contribute to diversification of energy supply sources and increase the stability of energy supply. However, it is necessary to efficiently reduce the water content to a level that it can be practically used as fuel. The energy balance of the fuel conversion system and the effects of airflow have been evaluated. A comparison of the difference in energy input with and without airflow shows that the airflow decreases the energy input when dryer efficiency is low.</p>
