Abstract

In this study, we analyze the simultaneous starts of talks occur at the end of a sequence. A end of a sequence is an utterance that terminates a sequence, such as the third pair part of an adjacent pair, and is also a position marked by laughs or pauses. Chiba 3-party conversation corpus (4 conversations) is used as analysis material. We define simultaneous starts of talks as two or more utterances that start within 200 milliseconds and show that the end of sequence is often observed immediately before such a simultaneous start of talk.
