この論文は、外国語としての英語教育において自律した学習者を育てるために、学校教員と大学研究者の連携による教育実践研究に焦点を当てることにする。本研究は、自律した学習者の育成を目指す辞書引き学習の事例研究に基づき、学校教員と大学研究者の連携による教育実践研究がどのよう効果をもたらすかを検討することを目的とする。本研究では、学校教員と大学研究者のチームが、日本の中学校で辞書引き学習を実践した事例の取り組みを紹介する。継続的な教育実践研究を通して、辞書引き学習が学習者への影響検証や効果的な指導アプローチの開発が明らかになった。本研究が、学校教員と大学研究者の連携が、現実的な教育課題の解決に役立つ教育実践研究の実施を促進することができることが示されている。教育協働実践研究において、専門知識の共有や対話的協働が重要であり、実践事例の実施と改善、そして最終的には学生の学習成果の向上につながることが強調されている。

This paper examines the collaboration between teachers and researchers in educational action research, focusing on the so-called `Jishobiki' (i.e., `dictionary lookup learning') model in EFL (English as a Foreign Language) classrooms. The study aims to investigate how collaboration between teachers and researchers can improve learners' vocabulary building and self-disciplined learning. The research is derived from a case study based on the Jishobiki learning strategy, which emphasizes the importance of cultivating autonomous learners through interactive activities that involve the use of dictionaries. The paper outlines the collaborative efforts of a team of researchers and EFL teachers in implementing the Jishobiki learning strategy in a junior high school in Japan. The study reveals that collaboration between teachers and researchers can facilitate the successful implementation of action research to solve realistic teaching and learning problems. By teaching and researching, the teachers were able to better understand the impact of the Jishobiki learning strategy on student learning outcomes. In turn, the teachers' input and feedback helped the researchers to refine their strategy and develop effective instructional approaches. Overall, the paper highlights the importance of collaboration between teachers and researchers in educational action research, by emphasizing the value of sharing expertise, working together to improve teaching and learning strategies, and ultimately enhance student learning outcomes.
