This study addresses the dearth of prior research concerning the connections with “society” within early childhood education in Singapore, and aims to offer meaningful suggestions for Japan, which strives to clarify the idea of “Curriculum Open to Society.” The paper delves into three primary aspects. ①What is the specific concept of “society” considered in early childhood education in Singapore? ②What are the qualities and abilities of children required to connect with “society”? ③What kind of activities and ideas are used in Singapore to foster these qualities and abilities? To achieve these research objectives, this paper analyzed Singapore's early childhood education curriculum policy and conducted an empirical study through field observations at local kindergartens.
