Abstract

Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between self-rated well-being of medical welfare students and related factors during the COVID-19 pandemic. Method: A total of 95 students were included in this study. The survey period was from September to November, 2020. A self-administered questionnaire was used to collect information on gender, age, height, weight, self-rated well-being, number of times they played with friends, having a boyfriend/girlfriend/partner (yes/no), having hobbies (yes/no), having meals with family (yes/no), having a confidant (yes/no), having dreams/goals (yes/no), amount of spending money, having free time (yes/no), receiving praise or getting angry, having a day without smiling (yes/no), feeling stress easily (yes/no), and having stress-busting methods (yes/no). Results: The multiple linear regression analysis showed that having a confidant, having sufficient free time, having meals with family at least once a month, and feeling stress easily were significantly associated with self-rated well-being after adjusting for age, gender, and body mass index. Conclusion: The association between social interaction and self-rated well-being or free time and self-rated well-being should be taken into account in physical therapist education for medical welfare students.
