Abstract

Researchz Reports

To prevent the spread of the COVID-19, emergency online classes have been implemented in Japan. Such emergency remote classes should be distinguished from carefully planned and designed online learning. Moreover, it is important to reflect on the difficulties and ingenuity with which the classes were practiced, and to summarize the tips learned there. this is regarded as knowledge that will contribute to similar situations in the future. Therefore, in this study, we have analyzed the descriptions collected in the questionnaires abuot online classes which were conducted in the first half of the 2020 academic year, and have organized how the emergency remote classes were tackled. As a result, four categories were extracted: "Consideration for differences in learning environments scch as ICT and devices,""Devices for teaching and learning,""Consideration for copyright and privacy," and "Attitude." Considering each category, the knowledge accumulated before the pandemic of COVID-19 was reaffirmed, and devices and burdens unique to the emergency situatins were also clarified.
